Why Shouldn’t I Microneedle at Home?
Microneedling is a gentle, safe, and effective way to address issues as varied as scars, stretch marks, and fine lines and wrinkles. However, not everyone is a candidate. The first reason to choose a professional for treatment is to make sure you are a good candidate for microneedling. If you have a skin condition or type that is unsuitable for treatment, your risks of unsatisfactory results – and even injury – increase significantly. Working with an experienced provider helps to ensure you are selecting the best treatment for your specific needs.
When you administer your own treatment, it can be hard to gauge appropriate depth and pressure. This can lead to increased risks for bleeding, swelling, and the potential for infection and scarring.
