Dr. Ravi’s Breast Augmentation Technique
Dr. Ravi performs breast augmentation in our private, AAAASF-Accredited surgical suite. Held to the same standards as an accredited hospital, our surgical suite is designed for patient comfort and safety, and enables us to be directly involved in every aspect of your care.
Dr. Ravi performs breast augmentation under general anesthesia to help ensure optimal comfort. To help reduce risks of bleeding and infection, he performs electrocautery of the blood vessels while making breast pockets. This is a relatively unusual approach because it takes more time. Dr. Ravi, however, believes time is immaterial when patient safety and results are on the line.
In addition to electrocautery, which may help reduce scar size, thickness, and visibility, Dr. Ravi utilizes Exparel®, a local anesthetic that reduces the need for prescription analgesics and helps to speed the healing process. Both of these things can impact the appearance of your final results.
At our Houston practice, breast implants are placed using the Keller Funnel® technique. This no-touch method of breast implant insertion helps:
