Years of Experience:
Why Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics:
Ever since I was in medical school I’ve had an interest in the field of beauty, although it may come off as superficial…it’s actually not! My personal belief is that every person has the right to choose what makes them feel good about themselves. If beauty to you is having white hair, then by all means, don’t color it. But if the site of gray roots is unnerving, run to your favorite colorist to put yourself at ease. The same goes for non-surgical and surgical enhancements. Dr. Ravi and myself have a philosophy of not pushing things when it comes to the treatments we offer, but they are there for you if you are a good candidate and have certain areas you want to improve on. I realized this was my passion a long time ago, but chose to undergo an intense residency in Internal Medicine to first become a well-rounded physician who is also able to care for medical ailments that are happening on the inside. Sometimes what’s happening on the inside can manifest on the outside and I wanted to have a strong knowledgebase to catch those things. I strive to improve the day to day lives of both men and women who are looking to constantly better themselves while regaining their self-esteem and confidence.
Favorite Treatment to Perform:
I think youth can be found in a bottle, or in this case, a syringe! I use soft tissue fillers that are especially formulated to volumize, contour and lift certain areas of the face, such as the cheeks. My go to products for cheek enhancement are Voluma and Lyft! Both FDA approved fillers create a structured, higher cheek bone while adding volume and smoothing out folds around your mouth to get a more youthful look. I have a special interest in lip enhancement and getting my patients to finally have those oh so kissable lips. Not only do lip fillers, such as Juvederm Ultra, create more volume but also allow you to look younger and more refreshed.
Favorite Treatment to Receive:
I love my Botox and I’m not embarrassed to admit it! Not only do I get it routinely every 3 months for wrinkle prevention and skin smoothing, I also have it precisely injected into specific areas of my jaw muscles to contour my lower face…I absolutely love the slimming and chiseled look I get with it!
Innovation You’re Most Impressed by:
Some of the greatest results I’ve seen in skin rejuvenation and hair growth have been with the use of your own Platelet Rich Plasma (as known as PRP). It’s amazing to see how your own cells, when concentrated and placed in the right areas, can help with skin texture, volume and elasticity. And when placed in the scalp can have amazing hair growth for both women and men!
My Top Beauty Advice:
- Take a little bit of time each day for yourself so that you can look and feel your most confident.
- Preventative care in key for your overall health, but crucial in skin health.
- Don’t worry about what others think or do; be self-assured in your choices when it comes to beauty and wellness.
Favorite Skin Care Product:
This is such a tough one! It’s impossible to pick just one product; there are so many amazing products out there that your skin needs. I curated a set of skin care products available at Body by Ravi Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics after meticulously trying our many physician grade skin care lines. This took many months and along the way, both good and bad skin days. The products I now offer are only those that I felt really made my skin feel good and healthy while delivering the results the companies claimed. My must haves are SkinBetter Science’s AlphaRet, Revision Vitamin C Lotion 30%, Teamine Eye Complex, SkinMedica TNS serum and Revision Intelishade Matte with SPF.
Favorite Houston Spot:
I’m a big-time foodie and love checking out the amazing food scene in Houston. Some of my favorites are Le Colonial, Yauatcha, Peli Peli, Uptown Sushi and Tiny’s #5 (to die for chocolate chip cookies). But this list could go on and on!
