At What Age Should I Start Fillers?

Youthful Woman with Facial Fillers

05/14/2019
Taking care of your skin is one of the best ways to prevent damage from the sun, environment, and toxins. Proper daily care may even help slow the process of aging, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, loose skin, and sunken areas of the face. However, even with a solid and professional skin care regimen, signs of aging will begin to appear, and it is at the first signs of wrinkling or sagging that action should be taken to maintain a youthful look.

You can begin injections from BOTOX® Cosmetic even before wrinkles start to appear on areas including:

  • The forehead
  • In between the eyebrows
  • Temples (crow’s feet)

BOTOX® Cosmetic injections are safe to receive every few months and, with regular use, can help you maintain a smooth and youthful appearance. Some patients choose to start this treatment in their 20s, before serious issues set in. This makes maintenance easier and can help improve your results as you age.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a bit different than BOTOX® Cosmetic in design and intent. BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes muscles to allow the skin to smooth. Facial fillers utilize active ingredients like hyaluronic acid to encourage the body’s natural processes to add volume to the skin.

Fillers are ideal for issues including:

  • Hollow or sunken cheeks
  • Fine lines
  • Deep wrinkles
  • Flat/asymmetrical lips
  • Smile and frown lines
  • Saggy or undefined jawline

Some fillers can also be used on the back of the hands to produce a soft and healthy look to thin, translucent, and wrinkly skin.

The best time to start dermal fillers is at the first signs of aging. It is easier to maintain your appearance if you start early and, when combined with proper skincare, these treatments can help you look and feel rejuvenated year-round.

We offer a range of skincare products that can be personalized to meet your exact needs. We can discuss these with you during your time in our care.

Rewards Programs

Just like you wouldn’t wait for your new car to break down before performing basic maintenance, it is best to address signs of aging preventatively – through proper skin care – at home and in our office. To make this more affordable, we are pleased to offer:

  • Galderma’s ASPIRE program. Free and easy, the ASPIRE program allows you to collect points for perks and special offers each time you choose Dysport, Sculptra, or any product in the Restylane family of fillers
  • Brilliant Distinctions. This rewards program gives discounts on everything from electronics to clothing each time you receive a BOTOX® Cosmetic, Juvéderm, or Voluma treatment

In addition to these rewards programs, we frequently run specials on our nonsurgical offerings. Please check our Specials Page for information on our current discounts.

We understand that this has impacted our entire country in multiple ways, from falling sick to job changes and school cancellations. We understand your multiple concerns and anxieties, and we want to assure you that as a medical practice, we are here for you.

Our office is open and ready to serve you. We have restarted performing elective surgeries at an Ambulatory Surgery Center, and in office elective surgical procedures will resume after May 8th. In order to decrease viral spread and to minimize utilization of medical supplies during this time of need, we have implemented a strict screening protocol. As far as non-surgical procedures, we are slowly rolling out these procedures. We are currently offering Botox and other non-surgical in office procedures, such as miraDry and Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling. We tentatively will be restarting filler treatments on May 18th. All staff and all patients are required to wear masks at all times. We are also not allowing any additional guests at this time. We are taking extra time and extra steps to make sure all contact surfaces, such as door handles and counter tops, are cleaned around the clock with appropriate cleaning solutions. Your safety had always been, and will continue to be, of utmost importance.

Dr. Ravi Somayazula and Dr. Swapna Gopathi, both board certified physicians, will continue to offer both complimentary virtual consultations via a HIPAA compliant and secure platform and in person office consultations.
