Pucker Up! 5 Facts About Injectable Lip Fillers

February 16, 2017

Published 02/16/2017

It’s a fact: more and more women are seeking options to increase the size of their lips. Whether it be Kylie Jenner, the influence of social media, or a general interest in non-invasive cosmetic surgery procedures—the popularity of injectable lip fillers right now is undeniable.

Let’s take a look at the facts!

How Much Are Injectable Lip Fillers?

This is typically one of the first questions potential patients ask. The answer tends to vary depending on each patient and their desired outcome. As to be expected, the more filler used, the more your treatment will be. On average injectable lip fillers cost anywhere from $500 to $2,000 here in the Houston area. Members of our Brilliant Distinctions® rewards program are able to earn points on popular lip fillers like Juvéderm!

Are Injectable Lip Fillers Permanent?

Injectable lip fillers are not permanent and tend to last around one year. As such, you will need to get the treatment done regularly (every three to six months) to keep up your fuller lips.

Are Injectable Lip Fillers Reversible?

While it is rare, there are times when men and women are not happy with their results. The good news is that Dr. Ravi is able to reverse the results using Hyaluronidase. When injected, Hyaluronidase acts as an “eraser” that dissolves the filler within a matter of minutes.

How Long Until You See the Results of Injectable Lip Fillers?

Typically, our patients will see the difference immediately. Your lips will likely be swollen for a day or two, but the swelling generally wears away quickly—after which, you are left with a fuller and a more voluminous pout.

Is there Recovery Time with Injectable Lip Fillers?

While there is little to no recovery necessary, some of our patients have residual swelling and bruising. For this reason, Dr. Ravi recommends that you schedule your appointment at least three days before any big event. Taking Arnica and avoiding NSAIDS (such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin) for one week prior and week after fillers will decrease bruising.
